Garden tips for the border
Now is the time to plant spring bulbs. Such as Daffodil, Grapevine, Snowdrop, Scilla and Crocuses. If your border is a bit messy, remove dead leaves and spent stems. Leave a few stems for overwintering animals.
Cover the bottom with a layer of mulch. Mulch is a layer of organic material, which prevents the soil from drying out. That layer can consist of dry leaves, wood chips or material that you buy at the garden center.
Fill the bare spots in your border with plants that bloom now and will remain beautiful next year. Such as autumn aster, Primrose and Hydrangea. You buy them blooming, so that they immediately brighten up your border.
